Fish Size
There is little doubt that the largest fish in the world is the whale shark. It has a maximum Length of 50 feet (15.2 metres) and can weigh as much as 13 tons (12 tonnes).
The smallest fish is a little harder to narrow down.
The smallest fish and vertibrate is the Paedocypris genus, which can be found in peat swamps of Sumatra, Indonesia. It measures 7.9mm. (http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1696950.html)
The male snoutfish comes in at only 7mm. It can be found swimming around Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
There is also the recently discovered male anglerfish (Photocorynus spiniceps), which was discovered in the Philippines. Snout to tail it was just 6.2mm.
