Dennys
Denny's originally started out in 1953 as Danny's, doughnut shop open 24 hours a day. It transitioned to being a coffee shop in 1954 and by 1959 changed its name to Denny's. This was to avoid confusion with a similar chain of coffee shops called Coffee Dan’s.
Denny's Grand Slam first came out in the early 70's. You can have a Grand Slam breakfast one of over 1600 locations in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Guam, Mexico and even New Zealand.
The only state without a Denny's is Wyoming.
In 2004, Dateline NBC investigated restaurant diner chains and found Denny's had the fewest violations of all ten chains evaluated by Dateline and was the only one to average fewer than one violation per restaurant.
